The Sabino High School girls soccer team recently concluded their season with an overall record of 5-11. While this may not be what the team initially hoped for, the season was defined by significant highlights and the dedicated leadership of its veteran players.

One of the most notable moments of the year occurred early in the schedule when the team faced off against Sahuaro. In a dominant performance, the girls secured a 6-1 victory. This game showcased the team’s full potential, combining a high-scoring offense with a disciplined defensive effort. It remained a benchmark for what the squad could achieve when firing on all cylinders.

Every season comes with its share of obstacles. According to team captain Keely Moran, one of the primary difficulties this year was maintaining consistent attendance at practice. These numbers often impact a team’s ability to run full tactical drills and build the necessary conditioning for the grueling winter season. Despite these struggles, the players who remained committed continued to push the program forward.

The team’s mentorship was strong this year. Led by captains Keely Moran and Parker Davidson, the following seven seniors played their final season for the Sabercats:
